SIMCO Receives Award from U.S. Department of Labor
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — November 10, 2021
The U.S. Department of Labor has awarded SIMCO with the 2021 HIRE Vets Medallion Award to recognize SIMCO’s leadership in U.S. veteran hiring, retention, and professional development.
“SIMCO is honored to receive this important award, and we’re proud of our many veteran employees that share our commitment to quality, service, and excellence,” says SIMCO CEO Brian Kenna.
Since its founding in 1962 to provide quality services to NASA, SIMCO has hired hundreds of veterans, many from the service’s highly respected metrology programs. Today, SIMCO’s team includes 120 veterans, over 36% of the company.
“I’m extremely proud of both my service in the U.S. Navy and my 21 years at SIMCO,” says Vince Jennings, SIMCO’s Vice President of Operations. “Both organizations share the dedication to quality, problem-solving, service, and teamwork,” he adds.
The HIRE Award recognizes SIMCO’s high percentage of employees that are veterans and success in retaining and developing veterans.
SIMCO’s veteran employees provide high-quality calibration and software services for over 3,000 organizations, including 16 of the top 20 global biomedical device manufacturers and 14 of the top 20 global aerospace and defense manufacturers.
